value as a reason for action
The Child is father of the Man;
And I could wish my days to be
Bound to each by natural piety.
Why do most people ignore the climate crisis?
Why do so few boys join choirs?
. . . and why do so few girls volunteer on heritage railways?
Perhaps my academic career looks somewhat eclectic, polymath even, but there is a theme that runs right through it – Value as a Reason for Action, a phrase first incorporated in the title of my PhD thesis. (click image for abstract)
Value as a reasaon for action provides an answer to the three big questions of my life.
