Although people usually say “treble” for all boys, properly speaking a treble was a boy who lived in the sixteenth century and sang higher than most other boys.
When I sing treble, I sing at the same pitch as girls. Some boys in my class think that’s weird. Are they right?

Fact Number Seven
Before adolescence, girls and boys do sing at the same pitch and can sound very similar. We say the voice is androgynous (no real sex difference exists).
Here is a good primary school choir. There are boys and girls in it, they enjoy singing together and have all learned to use their proper singing voices.
